I first visited this enchanting place in December 2016 to celebrate my 40th birthday, and the city was adorned with festive decorations and bustling Christmas markets. The atmosphere was magical, with the scent of roasted chestnuts and the sound of laughter filling the air. From the stunning architecture of Gaudí to the charming streets of the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona truly captured my heart.

Venice in December is a magical experience, especially for a birthday celebration. The is adorned with festive lights, and canals reflect the enchanting atmosphere. As you stroll through the streets, the crisp winter air carries the scent of warm pastries from bakeries. It’s a perfect time to explore the unique charm of Venice while creating unforgettable memories your special day.

It was another memorable birthday trip in December, and I couldn't believe it was my third time exploring the beautiful cities of Lisbon and Sintra. Each visit has offered new adventures and delightful experiences, from the vibrant streets of Lisbon to the enchanting palaces of Sintra. I can't wait share the highlights of this trip and the magic that continues to unfold in these stunning locations.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I'll never forget my first visit to Amsterdam. It was the spring of 2018, and I was five months pregnant with our third child. Seeing the colorful tulips in bloom, the picturesque canals, and the charming streets felt like stepping into a postcard. It was also our last family adventure as a party of four before welcoming our youngest child, making the trip even more special.

 

Amsterdam is one of Europe's most beautiful and walkable cities. Famous for its historic canals, iconic narrow houses, world-class museums, and vibrant cycling culture, there's something to discover around every corner. Spring is an especially magical time to visit, when tulips are in full bloom and the city comes alive with color.

 

Whether you're cruising the canals, wandering through the Jordaan neighborhood, visiting the Anne Frank House or the Van Gogh Museum, or simply relaxing at a canal-side café, Amsterdam offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and charm. It's a city I would happily visit again and again.
